Inner West for Refugees is a local action group working to mobilise people to shift community attitudes, and to advocate on behalf of people seeking asylum to our elected political leaders.
We are involved in community outreach actions, provide training to members of our community on how to have persuasive conversations about people seeking asylum, coordinate letter writing campaigns, and engage and advocate directly with our local MPs.
We do this through community outreach actions, providing training on how to have persuasive conversations about people seeking asylum, coordinated letter writing campaigns, and direct political engagement with our local MPs.
We also work in collaboration with other community groups and community services organisations in the inner west of Sydney, providing referrals and directing material donations to these vital services.
The Inner West for Refugees raised the profile of the nationwide Kids Off Nauru campaign which raised awareness in the public arena and created much political debate.
