Incredible turnout, over 100 people attended the forum!
On Thursday May 9, 2019 candidates Kath Larkin (Vic Socialist), Sarah Russell (Reason), Ged Kearney (Labor) and David Risstrom (Green) committed to build the refugee justice movement and share their thought about their asylum policies.
As Ged Kearney highlighted, what allows on-side politicians to advocates are political campaigns such as Kids off Nauru. Real change comes from the people!
We were also honoured to have in the audience Hakeem al-Araibi (Australian soccer player of Bahraini descent and refugee) and Hussein al-Qatari, leader of the Chemist Warehouse strike.
Thanks Northside Youth with Refugees & Northsiders with refugees for organising this event.
